Steve Orme

Steve Orme is an award-winning journalist. He worked on newspapers and magazines before moving into radio and television. He has been fascinated with crime ever since he attended magistrates’ courts as a cub reporter. He published his first crime novel, Storm Deaths, featuring basketball-playing detective Miles Davies, in 2021. A second, Storm Bodies, was published in 2023 and he is writing the third in the series.

He is also a playwright. His first stage play, What’s Your Poison?, about the Victorian serial killer Dr William Palmer, toured the UK in 2023. He is writing two new plays with a crime theme, one which has been commissioned by an English theatre company.

Steve has been approached to ghost-write the true story behind two of the most baffling deaths in Scandinavia.

He lives in Derby, England with his wife Sue. They have a grown-up son.
